Professor Giuseppe Salemi

Professor Giuseppe Salemi, graduated in Physics, full-time researcher at the University of Udine since June 1986, is associate professor for the SSD ICAR / 06 "Topography and Cartography" at the University of Padua since December 2002 From 2003 to 2010 he was a member of the "Department of Architecture, Urban Planning and Survey" of the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Padua. Until December 2011 he was Head of the LAT - Territorial Analysis Laboratory. Since January 2012 he has been a member of the "Department of Cultural Heritage: archeology, history of art, cinema and music - DBC". Teacher of "Territorial Information Systems" at the Specialized Degree Course in Environmental and Territory Engineering, of "Numerical Cartography" at the Specialized Degree Course in Building Engineering, of "Special Surveys for Cultural Heritage" at the Specialist Degree in "Sciences and Technologies for Archaeological and Artistic Heritage". The scientific activity mainly refers to the study and development of advanced numerical and computer techniques in the geomatics sector, with particular reference to detection problems in the geodetic, topographic, photogrammetric and satellite fields, at small, medium and large ladders. The applications developed in the Cultural Heritage sector concern multi-resolution acquisition with laser scanning systems, texturing of 3D models, high dynamic range panoramic photography, polynomial texturing.
